Oakridge Chiropractic

As part of Oakridge Chiropractic’s multi-disciplinary approach to getting your body functioning at its best, Dr. Diana Cieslak offers Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) treatments, including acupuncture, to her patients.

Ancient medicine for a modern world.

Acupuncture, along with massage, nutritional and herbal therapy, physical exercises and meditation, is a key element of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is one of the oldest medical procedures in the world. For over 2,000 years, people have used acupuncture to relieve pain and restore their bodies’ balance.

Healing one body, mind and spirit at a time.

When you are not feeling well, your body is telling you that something isn’t right. The vital Qi energy flows through your entire body through a series of pathways called Meridians, providing nourishment and strength to every cell, tissue, muscle and organ. When we experience physical, emotional and environmental stressors, it can disrupt the flow of Qi in our body and skew our natural balance. Over time, this may lead to physical and emotional symptoms and pain.

A comprehensive acupuncture evaluation helps acupuncturists detect and correct these imbalances - before they become major problems. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) works to put the body back in a balanced state.

A variety of proven techniques.

There are a variety of techniques associated with acupuncture, but all involve stimulating defined points on the body. Most commonly, this stimulation involves the use of thin needles that penetrate the skin at specific anatomical points.

Studies have shown acupuncture to be useful for relieving pain and improving function, making it an effective complement to standard care. It has proven to be effective in dealing with a range of health issues.

  • stress
  • headaches
  • lower back pain
  • fatigue
  • allergies
  • carpal tunnel syndrome
  • depression
  • addiction

A safe and painless treatment.

Acupuncture is an extremely safe, painless and drug-free therapy. Registered acupuncturists are fully trained and have agreed to a code of conduct and safety, including using sterile, disposable needles to eliminate the risk of infection.

The number of treatments that patients require is dependent on the nature of each individual’s health problems. Some conditions require several treatments per week, while other patients use monthly maintenance visits to stay healthy.
